Oracle DBA, Oracle 10g, 11g, RMAN, Unix, Linux, Bank. My client, a leading hedge fund company, in the FTSE 100, are currently the fastest growing and most innovative users of technology globally. They have a large number of technical and business awards to their name and with their powerful global presence, are a leader in the financial arena.
This role will involve working on a range of projects that will include: migrating to Oracle 11G; standardising, upgrading and improving technologies and processes; exploring all of Oracle's products such as partitioning and data compression; and RAC clustering, which obviously require Oracle expertise. Ensuring the continuous availability, capability, security and performance of all databases will be key. This is an outstanding opportunity to play a full and active part in a small, change-driven, fast paced and absolutely key team within one of the most successful hedge fund company's in the world.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Oracle DBA with a background in supporting mission critical, transactional and 24/ 7 operations. You will have thorough knowledge of Oracle 9i, 10g and 11g would be beneficial. Good knowledge of RMAN backups, Oracle RAC, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Unix/ Linux shell scripting and SQL performance tuning is required for this position.
