An ArcIMS Applications Development and Systems Support is required for our public sector client. The GIS team develops and maintains GIS systems using ESRI’s ArcGIS Suite, with ArcIMS being the preferred development tool for the client's internet applications. All systems are developed to the client's standards, and are fully documented. The client have recently migrated to 9.2, but a number of systems are still at 9.1. Therefore, this role includes a mix of development and support work. Apart from ArcIMS applications for delivery over the internet, our client also develops intranet-based systems using the ArcGIS Server development library, based on the same .net environment as ArcIMS. Candidates should have the following key skills and experience- C#.net, Asp.net, ArcIMS 9.1 / 9.2 applications development skills; Some basic SQL skills and experience; Some Javascript experience. Experience of developing web-based GIS applications in the .net environment, using the above combined skill set is also important. It would be highly advantageous for candidates to have experience of supporting web-based ArcIMS systems – e.g. bugs and fixes, minor systems changes, to have an understanding of and experience in administering Windows NLB through Microsoft Applications Centre and experience of administering and maintaining WMF and WMS map services.
