An Assistant GIS Data Manager is required for our public sector client to assist in a wide range of critical support tasks in respect of the GIS data used by their Corporate GIS systems, including GIS Data Analysis, Conversion and Management to a Corporate Level. The role will involve working closely with the GIS Data Manager, as well as with MS SQL Server DBAs to provide data support, including the loading and conversion of Ordnance Survey data as well as support to GIS users. Ideal candidates will have essential skills such as-GIS Data Analysis, Conversion and Management to a Corporate Level, ArcGIS Desktop 9.2 (ArcCatalog / ArcMap / ArcToolbox and creation of models). Successful candidates will have extensive knowledge of the ESRI ArcGIS Desktop software, especially its advanced editing and modelling capabilities.
Other skills required are:
ArcSDE 9.2 / MS SQL Server 2000 / 2005 (including SDEViews and SQL Indexing); Experience performing data conversion between the following data formats: shapefile; PGDB; FGDB; ArcSDE / MS SQL (vector and raster feature classes); image data (TIFF, JPEG, GIFF, MrSid etc..); OS Data (OS MasterMap:Gzip, AddressPoint and CodePoint:NTF), NLPG:CSV; Training and Support Skills; Metadata - UK Gemini and QMS.
