The posting will involve working within the Avionic Systems Engineering Department in Italy.
Work Description
Working on a new Fly By Wire Advanced Flight Control System under development new aircraft platforms.
System engineering duties will span the entire product lifecycle, from system definition (requirements capture, trade studies, architecture), to design (control law design, safety analysis, redundancy management, linear/ non-linear stability analysis, hardware/ software specifications, design reviews), through system testing (development, integration, simulation, validation, verification, flight test), to final qualification and certification.
Skills Required
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of experience with FCS system design and possess an excellent level of knowledge of the engineering disciplines surrounding the development of Fly By Wire Flight Control systems specifically in the area of System Architecture, Flight Control Computer design, Redundancy Management. As well as this, good knowledge of actuator, sensor and display components, for such an application, is also essential.
In addition it will be important that the candidate has a good understanding of the safety critical design practices required for the development of a civil certified FBW FCS. Flight Critical Software design, development verification and validation test is also one of the most important areas where the experience of the candidate will be greatly appreciated. Fly-By-Wire Experience on a Component Level (e.g. actuators, FCC) is a plus.
The candidate should possess a background in software and/ or hardware engineering, which includes experience with digital electronics and/ or real-time embedded software. Experience with model based development is also a plus.
Other skills
Familiarity with MATLAB and MALAB SIMULINK for simulation and modelling.
Familiarity with DOORs or other requirement management tools.
Knowledge of Redundancy management design.
He/ She also needs to be a good ”team player” and be self-motivated and able to work within a large company environment.
Italian spoken and or written will be an asset but will not be essential.
The candidate will also be required to have excellent communication skills both written and spoken (Work will be carried out in English).
The candidate will be expected to mentor junior engineers and must be willing to meet with customers and business partners and be capable of prioritizing multiple tasks.
