The Senior System Integration Engineer is responsible for the design of IT security measures.
2. Key responsibilities:
• Design of large scale system architectures, mechanisms and components from COTS components
• Liaising with the customer and project inter-working teams to establish key elements and requirements
• Working with third party suppliers to define and provide system components
• Work with the System Integration Team to build and manage systems
• Supporting system upgrades and maintenance releases
• Ensuring system integrity is maintained and that all applicable standards are maintained
• Technical investigations and diagnosis
• Problem reporting
• Support the creation of user manuals and training materials to train system developers, maintainers and users
3. Key relationships:
The Senior System Integration Engineer will need to build and maintain good relationships with the following stakeholders:
• Support Infrastructure inter-working team Technical Manager
• Lead Architect for Support Infrastructure
• Customer and associated agencies
• System development teams
• System Design Authority
• Third party COTS product suppliers and installation engineers
• Project Support Office
4. Decision making authority:
• The Senior System Integration Engineer has design authority over IT security components
5. Problem solving responsibility:
The Senior System Integration Engineer is responsible for ensuring that problems with IT systems and integration elements are diagnosed and resolved.
Reports issued on how to ensure problems are not repeated.
B. PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:
1. Formal Education and training:
• Educated to degree level in engineering subject or at least proven track record in a similar role – essential
• Trained in the use of mainstream COTS integration methodologies – essential
• Formal training and experience in systems analysis methods –
