Senior Oracle Technical Lead - South Yorkshire
Circa £45,000 + Bonus + Benefits (Negotiable dependent on experience)

My client, one of the worlds largest banks in Yorkshire is offering a high-profile opportunity for a very senior Oracle 9i / 10g DBA.

The right candidate will be confident and have strong RAC skills and replication. This is a hands-on position with responsibilities to help design and build Enterprise wide database systems. Candidates will have DBA, architecture and engineering experience and understand horizontal scalability, up-time and availability, and cost performance metrics. Reporting to the Technical Design Team Lead, you will be responsible for the database architecture developing document databases, schemas, tables, functions, triggers, procedures, relationships and other necessary aspects of the database on multiple projects. You will work with project managers, development managers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), QA, and members of the development team to define high quality logical and physical data models, ensuring the Software modules are robust and scalable, because of this excellent communication and presentation skills are required.

Required Skills:

Must have hands-on Oracle 9i/ 10g experience with latest tuning and optimisation techniques.
Strong relational and dimensional data-modelling skills. Experience designing and developing new databases and schemas is a must.
Solid database administration skills on 9i/ 10g RAC in Unix and/ or Solaris environments.
Solid knowledge of Oracle tools and utilities.
Database performance monitoring and tuning skills, SQL tuning.
Experience with data internationalisation/ localisation.
In addition, candidates must be able to provide documentation of their development work that can be used by other members of the team.
Experience developing and synchronising data within parallel database architectures is strongly desired but not a firm requirement.
Be able to provide recommendations analysis of complex database implementations disaster recovery solutions such as Dataguard and RMAN.

Financial services experience is preferable but not required.
