SOLARIS / LINUX ADMIN - INVESTMENT BANKING - LONDON
Solaris (8-10), Redhat Enterprise Linux RHEL 3.0 and above, The Veritas Suite, ksh and perl, TCP/ IP protocol, including DHCP and DNS.
Top Tier Investment bank has an urgent requirement for a HIGHLY SKILLED SOLARIS / LINUX ADMIN to join their London based office.
You will join the team responsible for 3rd line support / projects and will be involved in a wide range of work.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Solaris (8-10) and the Sun SPARC hardware range
- Redhat Enterprise Linux RHEL 3.0 and above
- Veritas File system, Volume Manager and Cluster products
- Good scripting skills, preferably ksh and perl.
- Regular and ad-hoc reporting
- Performance management and capacity planning
- Prioritise workload and monitor deliverables
- Candidate will be required to execute and deliver projects and as such will require suitable project management skills.
- Any Solaris / Red Hat / Symantec (Veritas) Unix related certification.
- Investment bank or other high level critical corporate environment.
- Knowledge of the TCP/ IP protocol, including DHCP and DNS.
- Experience supporting SAN attached servers, preferably with EMC and NetApp exposure.
- Experience supporting server backups, preferably Tivoli.
Preferred
- Advanced knowledge of Symantec (formerly Veritas) High Availability suite for Unix.
- Experience supporting ldap.
