An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Network Engineer to join a world class organisation. This exciting position requires a Senior Network Engineer to manager, develop the current network infrastructure to support critical operations and provide an expert resource for advice on technical issues as required.
Main responsibilities:
-Short, medium and long term operational planning and scheduling, for network capacity for both LAN and WAN.
-Taking responsibility for the upgrading, operation, control, maintenance and effective use of the current radio system for both the voice and data applications.
-Responsible for ensuring maximum availability of current online resources.
Implement training documentation and deliver training to staff in the use of IT equipment.
-Obtaining and evaluating offers from suppliers of equipment, software, transmission services and other services for communication networks.
-Assisting in negotiating and reviewing contracts and SLA's with key suppliers.
-Implement network monitoring functionality across the Trust and take responsibility for monitoring network activity.
-Ensuring all IT Personnel are aware of problems, potential problems and known errors so that they can assist in their resolution.
Essential:
-Degree level qualification in a technical subject.
-Experience in handling confidential information.
-Experience of managing staff including dealing with sickness, appraisals, disciplinary and grievance.
-In depth knowledge of different operating systems
-In depth knowledge of different hardware platforms.
Desirable:
-PRINCE 2 Project management.
-Industry based technical qualification.
-Previous experience in an NHS environment.
