Cobol Programmer - York, Yorkshire. Global Bankcard market leaders urgently require MVS Cobol Mainframe skills with practical experience in at least two of the following: CICS, DB2, IMS, SQL or TSO. You must have an excellent knowledge of JCL (preferably in an MVS Mainframe environment). Any knowledge of DBMS's (eg IMS or DB2) is beneficial (but not essential). You will provide programming support to clients and must be able to resolve issues quickly within a a time critical environment. Critical to this role is the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly within a time-critical environment. Support is provided by either making changes to existing code, or through new system developments. You will participate in conference calls, to explain an issue's resolution or a system function, or as a technical advisor to the client services team, may be required and will provide support towards the development of junior team members.
