This is a role which will provide you with lots of variety and no long, laborious projects. A small independent company are looking for a Graduate Embedded Software Engineer (C/ C++) to join their team in designing and producing single board computers for industrial applications. They supply their products to the aerospace, military, telecoms and automotive markets.

Position: Graduate Embedded Software Engineer C/ C++
Location: Buckinghamshire
Salary: up to £30K – depending on experience
Qualification: A degree in a relevant area (e.g. BSc Computer Science) and/ or a few years commercial experience.
Key Skills: C, C++, Embedded programming
Desirable: Assembler, Linux, Windows
The successful Graduate Embedded Software Engineer needs to be capable in embedded C/ C++ programming, with experience in assembler enhancing the application. You will be working in a small team of other developers to design and produce single board computers for clients. The company are not only looking for graduates, as they will also consider applicants with a few years relevant commercial experience.
The job offers the Graduate Embedded Software Engineer great variety in their work, with no long drawn out projects to tackle. Some of the projects will include:
- BSPs (OS porting) for Linux, VxWorks
- hardware device drivers for Linux, VxWorks and Windows
- firmware for 8-bit microcontrollers
- test code for new hardware including processor boards, graphics boards, various I/ O controllers
