Subsea Structural Engineer Nigeria

Our client is recruiting for a Subsea Structural Engineer for a 12 month contract based in Nigeria. The shift pattern is 6 weeks on, 2 weeks off.

Subsea Structural Engineer Job Overview:

To work on and/ or manage sub-contractor personnel during the engineering and design of the subsea manifolds, support structures and foundations for the Usan SPS project in Nigeria. The work will be undertaken in accordance with the clients HSE and QA policies and procedures and will encompass investigative studies, conceptual design development, detailed design, construction phase services and project management.

Subsea Structural Engineer Jobspec:

•Create and analyse the designs for the manifold structures to fulfill the company's functional requirements defined in the specification within the Usan SPS contract.

•Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process

•Integrate the structural design activities with the other relevant processes and technical disciplines. Responsible for all necessary liaison and co-ordination activities associated with the structural design.

•Ensure, as far as practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with agreed budget and schedule.

•Keep up to date with technical developments, National and International standards and legislative requirements related to discipline work scope

•Advise Project Management of specific issues relating to the structural design, e.g. weight control, change control, planning, progress reporting, etc.

•Implement company procedures and all other mechanisms or controlling factors to ensure the specific requirements of the contract are achieved, e.g. quality, safety, efficiency, budget and programme.

•Provide structural, geotechnical, marine and civil engineering services to assure the structural integrity and reliability of the manifold systems.

Qualifications:

•Experience in structural analysis of subsea structures

•Understanding with all aspects of structural engineering analysis of subsea structures, including design level, ultimate strength, fatigue, seismic, installation and dropped object loadings


•Willingness and ability to travel in order to fulfil the responsibilities of this position in Nigeria

•Practical knowledge and experience of structural analysis, design and installation of subsea structures


•Computer skills include utilization of software to assist in the structural assessment (e.g. USFOS, SACS, StruCAD, ANSYS, ABAQUS) and experience with Microsoft Office products



Education and / or Experience

•B.S., M.S. or PhD in Civil, Structural or Ocean Engineering plus 5 to10 years experience in structural analysis

•Familiar with and competent in planning, progress monitoring, forecasting and reporting

•Aware of commercial, contractual and administrative aspects of engineering
