Role – Commercial Manager - London

Our client, a leading Defence consultancy, is looking for a Commercial Manager for a 6 month contract based in Central London.


Purpose

HMRC require a Consultant to assist in the development and execution of a contract for the Business Link programme and to provide specialised commercial advice and support to the Business Customer Unit (BCU) in their management of the contract and ancillary (user) agreements. The consultant will provide advice to a variety of stakeholders regarding the scope of the Business Link contract and the adoption of associated new portal services.


Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Non-Aspire Contract Management Team the Commerical Manager will be responsible for undertaking the Contract Update Programme. This will include
•Undertaking change controls,
•Leading negotiations,
•Producing management reports for senior managers,
•Attendance at key commercial meetings,
•Drafting terms and conditions (including MoU's),
•Providing ad hoc advice and guidance,
•Developing the relationship with internal stakeholder and vendor,
•Undertaking knowledge and skills transfer to stakeholders,
•Working with stakeholders and vendor to develop commercial contract management processes and procedures.


Key Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

The Commercial Manager will have extensive commercial background (10 years experience) which will include:
•Contract management experience of multi million pound IT contracts,
•A good understand of Contract Law and drafting,
•Ability to manage and develop commercial relationships,
•Extensive negotiation experience,
•Significant knowledge of EU procurement legislation,
•Strong communication skills,
•Analytical skills,
•MCIPS is desirable

Location: Central London with occasional travel to Southend on Sea
