Embedded wireless communications software developer/ software engineer required. Candidates will have strong embedded C / C++ programming skills, wireless communications 3G/ 3.5G/ WCDMA layer 1 protocols, Low-level, embedded, real-time, h/ w drivers, assembly code, DSP cores
We have a new software layer 1 development position with our industry leading and world wide name in mobile communications. Their WCDMA development team is working at the heart of state-of-the-art embedded communications mobile handsets.
The successful candidates will be part of this team developing software across the full software lifecycle and in addition to being knowledgeable across the whole 3.5G/ WCDMA protocol, will also be expected to become one of the teams experts in one particular area.
Essential skills:
- Knowledge of mobile telecommunications, including layer 1 preferable for 3G/ 3.5G
- Good programming skills in C
Desirable skills include:
- Embedded and real time software development
- Full software development lifecycle
- Experience of software development for layer 1-3 communications protocols
- A background in 3G protocols
- Knowledge of digital signal processing (DSP)
- Software configuration management systems
- Appreciation of low level software issues such as h/ w drivers, assembly code, DSP cores, etc
- Experience of other languages: Visual C++, C#, Perl
