Our Client is a leading Defence organisation, specialising in communications, systems integration and support for military purposes. They have an urgent requirement for a number of assembly operators to work on their BOWMAN radios on the shop floor.
Experience required of Assembler
+All applicants must have a minimum of 6 months assembling electro-mechanical products
+Experience of assembling products or devices
+GCSE's, NVQ 2, O'levels or equivalent are required
Responsibilities of Assembler
+Working as part of the assembly team to produce LRU's (Line Replaceable Unit) to the daily going rate
+Working on repair and processing of LRU's through troubleshoot ensuring correct use of in house systems
+Use electronic systems to track repair and return and updated correctly
+Maintain quality levels of work in progress and finished goods
+Check Assemblies meet quality standards and seek advice from QA or supervisor as necessary
+Promote and ensure good working practice of Health and Safety regulations
+Maintain build schedule white boards
+Work with other Cell members using lean manufacturing techniques and participate in lean production activities.
+Maintain housekeeping in cell using 5S techniques
+Assist Supervisors, undertaking any reasonable task as directed.
You will be working on Military BOWMAN Radios using a variety of hand tools including torque wrenches, electric screw drivers, and holding fixtures.
Using company systems you will track changes, repairs and configuration of LRU products as well as using shop floor data collection systems to book on and off jobs.
As Assembly technician you will identify shortages and tooling requirements and observe the correct handling and lifting for materials used in the assembly and repair of LRU's.
This role requires you to either hold or be able to obtain full UK Security Clearance. Candidates must therefore hold a full UK British passport.
