Data Migration Consultant – Oracle, PL/ SQL

My client is a leading organisation based in South Manchester and is currently looking for an experienced Data Migration consultant, to work within a team of Application Implementation Consultants. Your primary responsibilities will be to migrate legacy data from foreign systems in to their own bespoke system, which is based on Oracle, utilising PL/ SQL to extract and insert data.
You shall be working closely with the Lead Consultant and external customers in order to shape the migration strategies, and develop specific migration programs working with PL/ SQL for insertion of data to the target database.
You shall also be getting involved in assisting other staff in the development of new programs, and assisting in the development of the overall migration framework. So whilst this is a hands on data migration role, we are looking for a candidate capable of thinking outside the box, and be able to offer solutions for the business in order to improve the overall effectiveness of their system.
Further opportunities will be available for the chosen individual to be given in house and external training in relevant areas within the Oracle environment. Suitable candidates will be good communicators, business minded, and have relevant Oracle and PL/ SQL experience within a data migration role.
A degree will go heavily in your favour, as would knowledge of programming languages such as C#.NET or Delphi.
