LINUX ENGINEER - INVESTMENT BANKING - LONDON
RedHat Enterprise Linux Engineering, Perl / UNIX Shell Scripting, Satellite Server, NIS, NIS+, LDAP, NFS and Samba, VCS, HP and IBM servers and blades, VMWare (ESX).
Urgent requirement for a highly skilled Linux Engineer to join a market leading Investment Bank.
You are likely to be well educated and have very solid experience as a LINUX ENGINEER within an Investment Banking or Large Scale (1000+ servers) Mission critical environment.
You will take complete ownership for the upgrade of the Linux RedHat systems and be responsible for the design and roll out of the standards in this area. This role will provide you with High visibility and superb opportunity for reward.
You will be articulate, Quality driven and have a sound understanding of Quality assurance.
This role will NOT require weekend or out-of-hours work.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
• RedHat Enterprise Linux Engineering.
• Excellent Perl / UNIX Shell Scripting skills.
• Solid grasp of Satellite Server
• RedHat support infrastructure, e.g NIS, NIS+, LDAP, NFS and Samba etc.
• Veritas Clustering and Foundation products
• HP and IBM servers and blades
• Virtualisation – exposure to VMWare (ESX)
• Oracle 10g RAC and non RAC
• Sybase 12.5 and above
