SKILLS: Application Support, Unix, SQL, Scripting, Databases. My client a financial services organisation is currently recruiting for an Application Support analyst. They are keen to build their permanent team into a centre of excellence. This is a high pressured role with the scope further progression. This client are keen on the development of the people who work for them. On successful placement the client will send the applicant on a variety of training courses.
This role is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong Unix, SQL, scripting and database knowledge to join an investment bank on a permanent basis. The role will suit someone with a minimum of 5 years experience with Unix, SQL, Scripting and Database knowledge.
Job spec:
*Ideal person will have some previous support experience (not infrastructure, or help desk).
*Important that the person have a positive mental attitude and be a good communicator as they will need to speak to the business i.e traders, quant's analysts etc
*English or German speaking is fine. English is the business language
*Strong Unix
*Strong SQL
*Strong knowledge of Databases (ideally sybase)
*Strong scripting skills i.e. Shell, Perl etc
*Equity Derivatives team supporting London & Frankfurt, looking after 7 internally based applications
*Not necessary to have huge amounts of Banking experience
*Important they have an interest in the business of Investment Banking
*Starting as soon as possible
