The applicant would be responsible for the planning and design of the DR solution across multiple platforms, primarily Windows Server 2003 but also AIX and Solaris. This would involve the design and creation of a test environment for the use of the Projects to test DR failover for individual services, working with the teams and SM to prove this. It would also involve the design and creation, and subsequent management of a Datacentre DR environment, where full datacentre failover can be tested for each Atlas Release/ Project.
This would include understanding the security and functional requirements for the platform, communication and documentation of the platform to technical colleagues, Service Management and the Business Continuity Consultants.
The applicant should have broad experience of server and application availability using clustering technologies. A broad understanding and experience of many of the products used in the infrastructure, will also be required.

amiliarity with, or ability to extend knowledge, to cover DR technologies which are intended to be introduced in Release 2B – including Global Clustering and Cisco GSS.
Key Deliverables:
-DR Testbed environment for service DR testing
-DR environment for the testing of full datacentre failover and failback
-Assistance to Projects in their detailed DR design, co-operation with Service Management to document datacentre failover/ failback
-Planning and management of the DR environments
Essential Experience
Extensive Infrastructure Design experience
Design experience with Windows Server 2003
Good knowledge of SAN interfaces
Good knowledge of DNS and IP services
Technical Communication
Technical design leadership
Technical documentation
Good interpersonal and organisational/ planning skills
Proven self starter
Desirable:
Design experience of Veritas Clustering, Global Clustering
Previous Disaster Recovery design/ implementation experience
Broad understanding infrastructure technologies
