The Job
As a Graduate Technical Support Specialist you will be responsible for dealing with customers from laboratories across the world. These customers may need advise on anything from how to use their imaging systems, resolving technical problems or simply request a new feature be added to future products. On top of this you will be responsible for answering email traffic and telephone calls, providing hardware and or software problem solving assistance.
As a Technical support specialist you shall be tasked with writing technical support material to add to the library of resources available to customers and liaise with 3rd party suppliers to resolve hardware support issues. As a graduate Technical support specialist you will receive full product and technical support training. You will be expected to operate a shift pattern, the team being responsible for arranging the rota on a monthly basis however a shift bonus is paid for each evening (after 5pm).
The Profile
The ideal Graduate Technical Support Specialist will have educated to degree level and have at least a 2:1 or equivalent and looking to progress your career within IT Technical Support. As a Graduate you will have a BSc degree having gained at least a 2:1 in a life science related subject, for example, Biology, human biology, Human Life Science, Microscopy, physiology, cellular or Molecular Biology or Biomedical Science. As a Graduate you will have a natural interest in Technology but keen to keep within the scientific field, you will have realised working in a laboratory isn't going to be for you. As a Graduate Technical Support specialist you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be confident, articulate, relish in problem solving skills, be smart and want to work in a customer focused environment. It is desirable for you to be fluent in either German, Japanese or French but not essential as well as having some customer service experience.
