Is Audio your life? want to work on the latest products in audio home entertainment systems? We are looking for an embedded software engineer with some Hardware design experience (basic circuit design, digital schematics etc) who is happy to work in central London and develop embedded software using C and assembler for a range of Hi-Fi products.

Position: Embedded Software Engineer.
Location: Central London.
Salary: £25-35k.
Key Skills: Embedded C, assembler, ARM, Micro-controllers, audio.
Award winning products developed by the company include Digital media interfaces, A/ V receivers, Tuners, Audio Amplifiers, Multi-Room systems, Automated Lighting, Mixers, Speakers and Subwoofers from entry level hi-fi to high-end and everything in between. The embedded software engineers initial projects will be focused on an ARM9 platform running Linux, with interfaces to Ethernet and USB and communication via protocols such as RS232, IR, I2C/ SPI and simple I/ O. Projects will vary over time depending on future product direction and employee skills.
Suitable Embedded Software Engineers will have excellent embedded software skills with C and assembler, microcontrollers (ideally 8 and 16 bit holtek, PIC, Renesas), a hardware background (Electronics degree? maybe a Hardware Engineer who’s moved into software? ) and some audio or consumer electronics experience. To qualify for an interview you will need at least one years experience programming ARM processors OR embedded software experience in audio products.
Also of interest – TCP/ IP, DSP, High End PIC processors, M16, bus systems, interfacing to I2C, SPI and parallel devices, low level TCP/ IP Ethernet, Embedded machine code, Wi-Fi, Codecs, audio streaming, internet radio, Holtek processors, A/ V receiver or professional audio products.
Suitable candidates will have a good understanding of electronics, be able to write code from schematics and data sheets, use digital oscilloscopes to aid debugging and source code control such as sourcesafe.
