A superb opportunity has arisen for a Lead Solution Architect to be based in Newport.
As the Lead Solution Architect you will be managing all aspects of the team in the UK, including involvement in defining future system and solution roadmap of the business and in particular the business unit for the UK market and promoting knowledge transfer between all the different parts of the organisation.
Key Responsibilities of the Lead Solution Architect:
•Leading and managing a team of solution/ system and enterprise architects deployed on multiple programmes and projects for both Lines of Business (LoB), business units in the division as well as internal SDC projects.
•Ensuring appropriate use of expertise, capabilities and solutions throughout the programmes and projects, from very early stages of the acquisition process to the close out.
•Negotiating with programme and project managers, partners and/ or suppliers delivery of work, schedule and costs and is responsible for subsequent delivery
•Promoting and facilitating knowledge transfer across programmes and projects and defines system and operations research and development needs for the business as a Lead Systems Integrator (LSI).
•Ensuring adherence of programmes and projects to system design and engineering processes
•Identifying, developing and recruiting required skill set and competencies of solution and enterprise architects for future business requirements
Key experience of the Lead Solution Architect:
•Degree in Engineering (information technology, electrical engineering, communication engineering etc..). (required)
•Training in system engineering methods and architecture frameworks. (required)
•Experienced in lead and large system integration projects of a size between £50m to £1bn.
•Demonstrated ability to understand and capture client's needs and transform these into architecture solutions.
•Demonstrated ability in implementing rigorous system engineering processes and improvements in system engineering phases of a project.
•Management and analytical skills
•Good negotiation skills, with ability to be assertive
•Strong communication and presentation skills, eloquent
•Enjoys working in a team
•Willingness to travel international for a period of several months
•Strong knowledge of architecture frameworks (MoDAF, DoDAF etc.) or similar/ associated methods (e.g. RUP)
•Familiar with system architecture modelling tools, such as System Architect or Rapsody, UML or sysML and system engineering methods (e.g. INCOSE)
