•Role specific responsibilities include supporting the following Programme Management Office activities:
•Assist in implementation of new project planning system across the organisation
•Gathering information and documenting programme status information for reporting to governance boards and other key business and IT stakeholders
•Programme resource and financial management across the total portfolio
•Managing the programme issues and risks register and driving through issue resolution and risk mitigation
•Defining and maintaining project management standards and best practices
•Driving the project governance process within GBM and making sure projects comply with overall GBM project approval processes
•Support creation of complex project plans within MS Project
•Monitor inter-project dependencies relating to resource conflicts, environment usage, code release management
•Yearly budgeting processes
•Identification and co-ordination of department training needs
•Liason with Finance department
•Maintenance of programme intranet and Sharepoint sites
•Essential Experience: (Must have skills)
•General
•PMO skills
•Strong experience of working within a PMO type role within an investment bank that liases across a large number of projects
•Relevant experience in dealing with senior IT and business management
•Thorough understanding of the project life-cycle and tools / techniques/ standards within each phase
•Preparation of senior management information packs
•Ability to facilitate/ chair status meetings and workshops
•Technology skills
•Strong MS Project skills – Gantt, resourcing, planning, scheduling
•Strong powerpoint and excel skills•
•Supplementary Experience: (Useful additional skills)
•Business knowledge
•Knowledge of project management processes and methodologies
•Familiarity with front-to-back office investment banking business functions
•Familiarity with technology architecture concepts
•Familiarity with testing approaches and implementation
