SENIOR LINUX ENGINEER / HEDGE FUND / LONDON
RedHat Linux Engineering, VMWare ESX, TCP/ IP, Excellent Scripting skills, NAS and SAN - Netapp, Brocade, FCP, NFS, etc
Urgent requirement for a SUPERB Linux Engineer to join a leading Hedge fund.
This is an awesome role within a GREENFIELD site. You will be tasked with taking ownership for the Linux estate. Designing, building, implementing and setting the standards.
You will be the "go-to" person and will be seen as the expert in this area.
This is an opportunity for you to take complete ownership of the Linux infrastructure and in time, build a team to assist in the day-to-day support. Therefore, some team leadership or mentoring experience will be beneficial.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
• Solid experience with Linux in an enterprise engineering / design / analysis / implementation / administration and troubleshooting role
• Server Virtualisation Technologies (VMWare ESX)
• DNS, ldap
• NTP
• Performance Tuning and sizing
• Monitoring and alerting
• NAS and SAN - Netapp, Brocade, FCP, NFS, etc
• Capacity Planning
• Strong scripting (Perl, ksh etc)
• Solid understanding of TCP/ IP, network optimisation
• VCS
