Purpose of role
The IT Service Continuity Technical Author is required to create technical documents detailing IT recovery (and recovery testing) of infrastructure and applications managed by the bank. The Technical author is also required to create and maintain the ITSCM process templates. Although the initial approach to documentation will be to use Microsoft Word and Visio to create the documents the aspiration is to create and maintain system documentation using tools linked to the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). Knowledge of documentation creation using programmatic and Web-based tools is therefore desirable.

Core accountabilities
Activities within this role will include:

Define ITSCM documentation standards within the support organisation (Service Management)
Review current ITSCM documentation
Assist all IT departments in creating system recovery diagrams
Development and publication of recovery test templates
Collate information gathered from IT recovery workshops
Create agendas for and minute IT recovery workshops

Development and publication of full recovery test document set including:
Invocation plan
IT call cascades
Recovery test plan
Communications plan
Professional/ technical experience

A recognised technical author professional with at least 3 years experience of creating documentation ideally in an ITSCM or BCM environment
