Our client requires an experienced Red Hat Linux / VMWare system administrator, your key duties will be the migration of physical Linux servers to virtual servers, (VMWare ESX server) .
Main responsibilities:- administration monitoring and troubleshooting system issues,
Clear design of solution of systems to meet requirements.
Generation of reliable time and effort estimates for projects.
Taking test and proof of concept implementations from the engineering teams and productionise these systems to ensure security and reliability.
Technical skills Required:-
Excellent knowledge of Linux (RedHat or Debian is ideal)
Knowledge of VMWare ESX (version 3.0 +)
Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl and Bash.
Excellent knowledge of network protocols such as SMTP, DNS, HTTP, TCP/ IP, DHCP, SNMP.
Troubleshooting complex technical issues.
Ability to stay focused on priority tasks but understand they work as a part of a team.
Self motivation on isolated tasks.
