Network Engineer/ Cisco
Our global marketing client is looking for a network engineer to provide network support to ensure the daily smooth running of the network infrastructure.
The role will include:
1.1st Level response to all network helpdesk calls.
2.Liaise with other teams such as NT, UNIX and Operations where required to resolve issues.
3.Assist in updating network documentation.
4.Provide network assistance for server installations inc IP addressing, ACL Changes, cabling.
5.Install system software upgrades or new hardware where required.
6.Investigate and recommend enhancements.
7.Ensure Data Centre and users are made aware of any changes that will affect the network.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:
•Minimum of 2 years experience in supporting a Cisco LAN infrastructure including the use of VLANS, ACL's and Layer3 switching on Cisco Catalyst Switches .
•Minimum of 2 years experience in supporting Checkpoint firewalls, preferably on Nokia & SPLAT solutions.
•Minimum of 2 years experience in supporting a Cisco WAN infrastructure including the use of MPLS, ATM, Frame Relay, ISDN, Leased Lines, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP & 3DES Encryption on Cisco Routers.
•Preferably experience with installing and supporting Cisco WAAS solutions.
•Preferably experience in supporting remote access systems including dial in & VPN using Token based authentication or TACACS. Experience with F5 Firepass environment preferred.
•Preferably experience with supporting F5 BIG-IP content switches with SSL acceleration.
•Preferably experience with supporting Bluecoat Proxies with Websense.
•Preferably experience in supporting VoIP in a mixed Avaya/ Cisco environment.
•Knowledge of SNMP and management systems.
•An understanding of DNS, DHCP and WINS in a Windows domain environment.
•Experience in providing support in a customer facing role.
