SOFTWARE ENGINEERS (C#, JAVA, C++) FOR TIER ONE INVESTMENT BANK

Leading Investment Bank requires skilled software engineers (Java or C#) to join a growing emerging markets team. The role requires NO finance knowledge but candidates must have a strong interest in learning about trading and a combination of Java or C# experience and analytical abilities.
This growing team is tasked with building systems in a mixture of Java and C# Winforms to aide the trading of different assets (FX, Equities, Bonds and their Derivatives) on emerging markets like South America and Eastern Europe.
The role requires excellent communication and analytical skills as there will be a strong trader support function where you will learn the business to an in-depth level. Development projects are typically 1-8 week Risk and PnL agile projects, aimed at bring new trading facilities these new markets.
The systems are core Java on a Sybase database, heavily utilising Java messaging technologies and C# Winform Gui's. Candidate's need to have one of Java or C# to upper intermediate level and some exposure to a mix of XML, SQL, LINUX, .Net Remoting, Sybase, VBA or C++.
The right highly analytical and well communicated candidates don't require finance experience but as competition is fierce for these roles, any background with banking, software houses, brokerages or consultancies will be beneficial. Candidates without banking will need to show a keen interest in learning the business, excellent analytical and problem solving skills and an excellent degree or equivalent would be beneficial.
