My client, a multi-national Defence and Technology Company, is currently looking to recruit a Risk Manager. The Risk Manager works with the project/ programme manager, technical manager, system design authority and sub-contractors on a day-to-day basis to establish a complete and accurate position on risks, and to facilitate the mitigation and fall-back actions in accordance with the businesses defined risk management process.
You will work with the engineering, commercial, financial and supply chain functions and specialists as necessary to provide the complete business view, and will present the risk status to the customer at key reviews. Risk management is ultimately the responsibility of the Head of Programmes, with a large input from the technical leadership, the project manager, supply chain manager and commercial primes working as an integrated team.
The Risk Manager works as part of this management team to provide a strong focus and be the ultimate source of
information for all activities affecting project risk.
Requirements:
Familiarity with development planning and systems engineering practices are essential. Experience in a high tech development environment is required, ideally in communications and Defence applications, although experience of projects with similar levels of complexity and scale in other technologies is equally valuable.
The risk manager will be required to have a good understanding of project lifecycle across the technical and commercial disciplines and be able to crystallize the financial impacts of project and supply chain issues.
It is anticipated that the risk manager will have had some project management experience and a technical background, although formal training in risk management disciplines, coupled with sound commercial experience gained in sub-contract management or procurement, would also be considered.
