Exclusive to Huntress Search: Systems Architect / Designer
My Client is Europe's Leading Manufacturing company in its industry, a truly prestigious outfit - having grown in global stature and annual turnover to +£4bn, and +25000 employees.
As the Group has expanded, the IT department now has the backing of the business to fully play its part in Group and Business Support. The Group will now be working towards a complete ERP solution, with the route (SAP, Oracle or bespoke systems design and upgrade) to be decided by the CIO, Systems Manager, and designed by the new Systems Architect - A designer of a functional ERP solution for the Group.
Key responsibilities:
Appropriate use of systems and processes to improve Company's competitive advantage;
Management of Group business process and systems architecture repository;
Design system solutions which align with the roadmaps and projects requirements;
Ownership and development of the Group data model;
Accurate estimate of costs and timescales for systems design work;
Creation of design and system standards and frameworks which align to the roadmap and facilitate a coherent set of solutions;
Control quality of development work of internal staff and external suppliers to ensure the required design is implemented;
Validate the roadmaps and feedback any required changes;
Key skills:
Detailed understanding of data architecture and modelling;
Knowledge of IT system capabilities and how they communicate with the end user and with each other;
Ability to work within and contribute to standard delivery methodologies;
Ability to work on several projects at once;
Ability to gain buy-in of systems designs from peer groups and architects;
Production of documentation and high attention to detail;
Conflict resolution (e.g. where conflict exists between architecture and solution design with the business architect to resolve);
Methodology certification (TOGAF, ZACHMAN, PRINCE2 etc.).
