Leading service provider have an opportunity for an IP Video Conferencing engineer to be based in London and paying up to £60,000 base salary with pension, health, 25 days holiday, bonus etc.

IP Video conferencing engineer required by a London based Service Provider with offices worldwide. The successful applicant will provide consultative expertise on infrastructure and architecture design and support for video conferencing services.

The role is a mixture of designing video conferencing solutions for enterprise clients and providing 3rd line support where required. The IP-Video Network Engineer serves the fundamental purpose of developing a cohesive and coherent IP-video network for IP-Video applications/ products to run on IP networks. These applications include but are not limited to, sustaining current MCU platforms, managing upgrades and supporting the Video Operations floor, as well as multi-media conferencing and collaboration, commercial Video Service Provider (VSP) overlay network VPNs, digital cinema, video on demand, and streaming media services.


The ideal applicant will probably have worked in an ISP environment and will have a minimum of three years experience developing complex enterprise solutions. All applicants must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience with following technologies: MPLS, IP, BGP, Video conferencing, CODEC's, MCU platforms. The majority of kit on the core network is CISCO so good experience with this is essential. In regards to video conferencing ideally would like experience of polycom or tandberg systems.

It would be highly desirable for applicants to have extensive expert knowledge of network access technologies (e.g., Local Loop/ DSL/ Dialup/ ISDN/ FR/ ATM/ Fixed Wireless/ Mobile wireless), expert knowledge of PSTN networking (e.g., TDM/ ISDN/ SS7), expert knowledge of ISDN/ IP-based communication protocols, protocol suites and CODECs (e.g., H.32x/ T.120/ SIP/ SGx/ G.xxx/ MPEG)
