Unix/ Linux Systems Engineer, Solaris, HP-UX, Bank, london. My client, a FTSE50 company, are currently the fastest growing and most innovative users of technology currently within the Banking arena. This role requires an experienced Unix System Engineer, who will be responsible for designing leading edge Linux and Unix infrastructure solutions based on internal customer requirements. They will continuously seek to improve IT infrastructure in order to optimise and automate maintenance and will serve TG infrastructure and operations teams.
The ideal candidate will have relevant experience as a Linux or Unix (Solaris or HP-UX) systems engineer. They will be results-driven, flexible for change and customer orientated. They will also have experience in complex infrastructure design and engineering. It is essential to possess advanced knowledge of IP-based networking, web services, SAN storage, virtualisation, server staging and mySql or Oracle experience is highly advantageous. This is a fantastic role offering excellent career progression in a prestigious financial institution.
