Chief Systems Engineer required for this leading R&D and innovation centre of this 'blue chip' defence systems integrator. The role is based at their Midlands site but could be mobile.
Responsible for leading a team of R&D Systems/ Software engineers developing innovative solution, ensuring those solutions are commercially viable cost effective and meets the customer requirements taking it into concept phase and beyond.
A clear strategic focus for systems engineering technical excellence. You will identifying, establishing and developing strategic scientific and technical systems engineering capability. Applying the result across the wider systems engineering community within the whole company within strategically important company wide activities.
You will required a good (2.1 or better) numerate 1st degree, strong mathematical ability, and commercial complex systems engineering experience is essential, preferably from the defence sector but other R&D complex systems will be considered. A relevant higher degree, including MBA, is also very desirable.
This post includes a strong technical content, but managerial and business influencing skills are paramount. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate a first class track record in these areas
