Our cleint seeks the requirement of a Senior technical Oracle Developer for thier IT reglatory system development spread over three continents, Europe, Asia and the US.
Technical Responsibilities
Design:
Interpretation and understanding of functional specifications
Writing technical design documents adhering to predefined standards
Code:
Hands on development of quality (i.e. readable, performing and supportable) PL/ SQL code on an Oracle 9i database, delivering the functionality detailed in the technical specifications
Hands on development of Perl scripts, delivering the functionality detailed in the technical specifications
Ensuring code written meets the predefined company and department standards
Performance Tuning:
Tuning existing code to ensure acceptable application performance
Quality Assurance:
Conducting peer reviews and providing constructive feedback
Testing:
Preparation of detailed unit test cases
Execution of unit test cases and documentation of results
Providing support during QA and UAT test phases
Diagnosis and resolution of defects found during QA and UAT test phases
Implementation:
Training and knowledge transfer to support team
Post-Implementation:
Point of contact for support team, investigating and resolving issues found in production
Essential
Skills/ Knowledge:
Oracle, PL/ SQL, Database design, performance tuning
Scripting languages (shell, perl), Unix
Clearcase or other source code control tools
Knowledge of software development best practices'
Good knowledge of the software development life cycle
Analytical skills ability to investigate and resolve issues in a high-pressured environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multi-task
Estimation
Ability to train others
Preferred
Experience Required: Experience of investment banking
Skills/ Knowledge:
Working knowledge of additional languages, tools (Autosys, ASP .net, C#, MS-Access, MS-Excel)
Knowledge of investment banking industry and regulatory reporting functions
Ability to communicate directly with business community
Ability to analyse business requirements and translate into functional requirements
Knowledge of UML, Visio
