1st/ 2nd Line Linux Technical Support Engineer; Farnborough, Hampshire. Required to join a leading Linux and open source provider.
The role will involve answering telephone and web based inquiries from customers regarding company software. This will include: Verifying customer support entitlements and providing 1st / 2nd level Technical Support to EMEA based customers; liaising with other EMEA Support teams.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience: Entry level Linux experience (from a commercial environment); Basic knowledge of network services (Apache, Samba, Bind); Some/ Basic exposure to Oracle/ mysql; Some TCP/ IP networking; Experience of other Unix/ Linux OS; Strong interest in Open Source technologies.
