This construction services company established over 80 years ago are currently looking for a SHE/ Safety, Health and Environment Manager to join their SHE team in their head office in Norwich. This dynamic company are providers of enhancement and maintenance services across the infrastructure, rail utilities and highways divisions across predominantly within the public sector throughout the UK.

The opportunity has arisen for a Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Manager to join their Health and Safety department, working from their head office in Norwich within a small team, assisting in the delivery of key strategic SHE objectives for the company. As the ideal Safety, Health and Environment (SHE)Manager you will be experienced in the role, ideally working as a SHE Manager at present and you will have a high level of working knowledge in Safety, Health and Environment matters. You will be proactive in recognising, managing and resolving Safety, health and Environment (SHE) issues.

Reporting to the SHE Director your responsibilities will include providing support and advice to necessary personnel and producing and distributing relevant Safety, Health and Environment information to SHE Advisors. As the ideal Safety, Health and Environment Manager you will also be involved in keeping abreast of emerging SHE legislation, assisting with Client enquiries, undertaking some SHE inspections, SHE audits, attending weekly safety meetings, as well as responsibility for Environmental developments, environmental information and assisting procurement in attaining environmental information.

As the suitable Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Manager for the Norwich role you will have a full detailed knowledge of SHE legislation, and a sound working knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. You will ideally have built up a network of contacts within the industry in the Norwich area and across the UK and also have a detailed knowledge of construction and health and safety within the construction industry.

It is essential the successful Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) manager is able and willing to travel with some overnight stays being required. You will also have excellent communication skills both written and verbal and sound report writing skills.

You will be CMIOSH or IEMA and hold CIEH – nationally recognised Environmental qualifications are also required as is a good understanding of EPA and waste regulations.

The successful candidate should be based around the Norwich area or within commutable distance.

In return for this experience and the required skills, this company offer a competitive salary of £30,000 - £45,000 dependent on experience plus excellent benefits and the opportunity to work for a company that offer excellent career development and ongoing training.
