A Server Engineer is required to work for our public sector client. The role will include working with Remedy (call logging system) to answer Helpdesk calls assigned to the server team. You will carry out general server and network administration supporting a user base of 7,000 users and around 450 servers as well as specific support for corporate services such as Exchange 2003, web filtering, virtual server environment, file permissions and general problem solving. You will also get involved with specific projects such as server builds (physical and virtual), software upgrades and installs, migrations (office moves), server replacements and changes to the existing systems. Monitoring tasks will include– capacity management, server housekeeping, performance monitoring, security patching. You must have an excellent working knowledge and experience of Active Directory (DNS, DHCP and GPO’s), Network server administration experience, Exchange 2003 administration experience and Network printer experience. Disaster Recovery and Data Centre Migration skills are essential for this role. Ideal candidates will also have experience of Citrix server administration (PS4 Farm of 60 Citrix blade servers).
