SENIOR LINUX / VIRTUALISATION ENGINEER - HEDGE FUND - LONDON
Linux / UNIX Engineering, PXE, DHCP, DNS, LDAP, NTP, Performance Tuning and sizing, NAS and SAN - Netapp, Brocade, FCP, NFS, Capacity Planning, Perl, ksh, TCP/ IP, VMWare ESX.
My Client, a leading Hedge Fund has an urgent requirement for an EXCEPTIONAL Linux / Virtualisation Engineer to join their London based office.
You will be responsible for the continuous improvement, growth and support of the Linux Infrastructure.
This is a proactive role which will suit a dynamic, forward thinking engineer. You will be a problem solver keen to troubleshoot and seek out the best solutions.
You will be required to translate Business needs into Technical solutions and will be seen as THE Linux Expert.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
• Solid experience with Linux in an enterprise engineering / design / analysis / implementation / administration and troubleshooting role
• PXE, DHCP
• DNS, ldap
• NTP
• Performance Tuning and sizing
• Monitoring and alerting
• NAS and SAN - Netapp, Brocade, FCP, NFS, etc
• Capacity Planning
• Strong scripting (Perl, ksh etc)
• Solid understanding of TCP/ IP, network optimisation
• Server Virtualisation Technologies (VMWare ESX)
Desirable Skills:
• Cisco Administration, Multicast
• WAFS
• Clustering, e.g. VCS
• Windows, Active Directory
• Appreciation of ITIL concepts
