A vacancy has arisen for a Systems Technician to be based in Hampshire.
Systems Technician Hook
This role sits within a secure site and will be to work on Defence related projects; therefore candidates must be willing and eligible to undergo Defence Vetting Agency Security Clearance.
ESG provides hardware support in the form of COTS Integration and Installation, and Break/ Fix services to EDS Defence Projects based mainly in Hook. A vacancy now exists for a Hardware Break/ Fix engineer to supplement the ESG workforce to ensure that SLAs are being met.
ROLE SUMMARY:
To undertake, as part of a team, the diagnosis and subsequent repair of faulty IT equipment returned to ESG from global military operations. Equipment includes PCs/ Laptops/ Servers and peripheral equipments including various types of printers and projectors etc. in accordance with SLAs between ESG and Hook based projects.
ESSENTIALS SKILLS/ QUALIFICATIONS:
Experienced in the hardware repair of PCs/ Laptops/ Servers.
Experienced in the repair of PC peripheral devices (Laser and Inkjet Printers)
Basic knowledge of simple PC networks (for testing of network products including NICs, hubs and switches).
Able to demonstrate logical fault finding with the above.
Basic knowledge of PC Operating Systems, mainly Microsoft.
DESIRABLE SKILLS/ QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge/ experience in repair of Sun Servers (Ultra 10, 80, V240 etc.)
Basic knowledge of Unix/ Linux/ Sun Solaris.
