My Financial client requires an experienced Supplier Manager for a 6 month contract.
The Supplier Management Team are responsible for contract and supplier management activities, including IT services, software, hardware, support, licences and contract staff. The team work with the support of the Central Procurement Unit, and according to Central Procurement guidelines.
Objectives
• Contract and Supplier Management of outsourced contracts
• Undertake the purchase / supply chain process, including confirming supplier details, availability of budget and determination of cost codes and ensuring that detailed background information is provided to support requests for work in order to raise purchase orders
• Manage ongoing change requirements with suppliers
• Manage cost saving initiatives with suppliers
• Maintain a business-focused approach to the management of third party suppliers
Responsibilities
• Provide purchasing and commercial advice to IS project managers and stakeholders
• Support the procurement processes by monitoring, reviewing and approving requests for work leading to Purchase Orders being raised.
• Work with IT suppliers in a consistent and coherent manner, resulting in value for money being delivered and service levels being met
• Creation of Third Party Supplier performance reporting
• Maintain management information to support the Supplier Relationship Management function
• Identifying cost saving opportunities and process to deliver opportunities
• Adopt a business-focused approach to the management of third party suppliers
• Creation of reports and purchasing documentation in a timely and accurate fashion
• Active support, at all times, of company policy and best practice in the area of security, with particular emphasis on the protection of sensitive customer data and other information
Skills and Experience
Technical Expertise
• Demonstrable experience in Supplier Management processes.
• Experience of working in a partnership and developing strong supplier relationships whilst maintaining impartiality and pursuing and demonstrating value for money
• Experience of Contract Management and Service Level Management
• Proven knowledge and experience of the IT supplier market place
• Experience operating in a Professional Services or Financial Services environment
• Knowledge of UK Government Procurement rules and processes would be desirable
• Experience of any relevant ITIL or CIPS processes – Qualifications would be advantageous.
