SQL DBA - Hedge Fund - Hong Kong
Our client is seeking to recruit a highly experienced SQL Server DBA. They will join an existing team consisting of three experienced database administrators who are based in London. The DBA team is responsible for over 100 instances of SQL Server 2000 and 2005, in Production, QA and Development environments across all global offices.
Skill Requirements
To successfully achieve the tasks required the individual should be able to work with / coordinate their activities with colleagues based overseas by applying good analytical and problem solving skills. The SQL server DBA should also possess good communication skills and be able to relate technical issues to developers, and also into language that can be understood by non-technical Business users.
Key technical skills:
•Good knowledge of SQL Server 2000 & 2005 and T-SQL
•Experience in T-SQL performance tuning and optimisation
•Experience in working with triggers, stored procedures, functions and backup/ restore routines
•Familiar with replication, logshipping and other HA alternatives.
Preferable skills:
•SQL Reporting Services
•SQL Analysis Services and OLAP Cubes
•Networking and Infrastructure skills
•Understanding of Agile development methods (e.g. XP & SCRUM)
