A major networking and telecoms company seeks a CCNP accredited Network Engineer to work closely with a prolific client in the Hampshire/ Berkshire area. Based in Hampshire, you will provide telephone and remote support to the client, and also spend half your time on their site in a face to face role. Candidates must have full CCNP accreditation or the Cisco Equivalent: CCDP, CCIP, CCVP, CCSP. You must have experience in configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco Hardware Routers and Switches in a LAN/ WAN environment. You must be able to adapt your skills to support range of other Cisco Hardware devices: CSS, ASA, IPS, UBR, GSR etc. You must have a solid working knowledge of the Internet and IP. An understanding of SMTP, DNS, SNMP, DHCP and routing technologies is highly advantageous. Experience with a remote management application such as CiscoWorks is beneficial. You should also be familiar with some of the following: IOS, Ethernet, Token-Ring, Frame Relay, ATM, TCP/ IP, IPX/ SPX, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, VoIP. As a key client liaison you must have excellent communication skills both face to face and on the telephone. In terms of your career path, it is likely that this person will have the chance to move into a more senior support role in the future, or even technical consultancy, or a pre-sales architecture position. You will receive excellent training and unrivalled exposure to the most cutting edge of Cisco technology, and progression to CCIE. A good starting salary is on offer – up to £36.5k base + 10% for CCNP + 10% bonus. There are additional allowances for On-Call and overtime work. Other bens include 25 days hol, Life cover at 4x base salary, Health cover, and Pension at 4%.
