My client is a leading Solutions provider that is currently recruiting for a Unix/ Linux Systems Administrator to be based in Surrey.
You will be responsible for the day to day operation of the infrastructure and provide high level technical support to my clients systems and their client's infrastructure.

To be considered you will need a solid understanding of an operating system; both Windows and Unix/ Linux based, understand paging and swapping, inter-process communications, devices and what device drivers do. You will need to have exposure to the following:
- Can use performance analysis to tune systems.
- Solid troubleshooting skills
- Significant experience with popular Mail server systems (installations, configuration and troubleshooting): for example Qmail, Sendmail, Postfix, and Exchange.
- Nameserver configuration and DNS understanding – knowledge of query types and where they are relevant.
- Configuration of IIS application pools, script extensions, ISAPI components, configuration backup and restore.
- Performance tuning of MySQL/ MSSQ
- A solid understanding of networking/ distributed computing environment concepts; understands principles of routing, client/ server programming, the design of consistent network-wide filesystem layouts (NFS/ GFS)
- Solid experience of OpenLDAP and Freeradius within an ISP environment
