Role: Technical Support Engineer (Microsoft/ Veritas/ Java)

The primary focus of the role is to be responsible for operational management of integrated applications across the OAT and production estate. Key accountabilities include: ensuring that deployments into production class environments meet global quality standards and policies defined with the global service line lead; ensuring that incidents are handled through to completion to agreed service levels; ensuring that knowledge gathered is stored and shared in knowledge management toolsets; ensuring that designs from architecture teams are reviewed and challenged with a view to ensure that the appropriate compromise between operational requirements and architectural purity is achieved; engaging directly with project release & implementation teams to validate and influence/ direct implementation activities through ongoing technical consultancy. Skills and experience required for this role are as follows: demonstrable track record of systematic & methodical approach to troubleshooting within an integrated production environment and a detailed understanding and practical application in providing technical support; aptitude for defining, testing and implementation of monitoring rules with standard toolsets and/ or scripts; aptitude for identification, testing and resolution of technical issues; experience with supporting complex nvironments and associated interfaces; experience of supporting Microsoft and Veritas clustering solutions; d etailed understanding and practical experience with at least two of the following: Tibco; Java; .net and XML; experience with one of the following toolset: GH Tester, TOAD and Remedy.
