My client is looking for a Senior Oracle DBA Consultant to build and upgrade database server to existing standards for production and pre-production environments, including resilient, clustered environments.
Key Responsibilities
oSupport pre-production and production services.
oProvide PL/ SQL expertise to development teams.
oProvide implementation and design expertise around the use of XML DB functions (Shredding, Search indexing, ACL and performance tuning).
oWork with Technical Analysts at a conceptual level when refining requirements.
oWork with Technical Design at implementation level when refining detail design.
oWork closely with the Data Analyst to Support the bridging of Object and Relational
Technologies
oWork closely with testing to identify performance bottlenecks.
oDesign and document standard Oracle server builds.
oBuild proof-of-concept, pre-production and production Oracle installations.
oAdvise on choice of Oracle management infrastructure.
oAdvise on security management of oracle installations and databases.
oBuild Oracle management infrastructure including appropriate scripting etc.
oWork with projects to advise on schema and architecture design.
Key Knowledge and Skills in order of preference
oUse of ORACLE 9i release 2 components in particular;
o9i XML DB repository functions (eg Shredding)
o9i Contextual Search development and tuning
oOracle 9i security model, including XML DB ACL functions
oOracle 9i Tuning
oExperience of building and using Oracle enterprise management tools
oExperience of DBA support for Application Servers and other tools e.g. ETL, EAI, Document Management etc.
oExperience of Oracle database monitoring & tuning
oExperience of e-business infrastructure and the deployment thereof.
oExperience of the security issues present in the deployment of e-business infrastructure.
oGood working knowledge of the end to end components present in e-commerce environments.
