UNIX, MANAGER, SOLARIS, AIX, LINUX, VERITAS, HACMP, BANK, ASIA, SINGAPORE, JAPAN, HONG KONG
A positon has arisen for a Global UNIX Manager within a top Investment Bank, based in Singapore. The role will involve managing around 35 staff, with a view to grow that team over the next 6-12 months. The employees will be based in teams in London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and India. The successful candidate will also work very closely with the Platform Manager and will be given the opportunity to grow within the company.
Your main objectives are to:
- Lead the Unix platform support services for the Enterprise Support Services team and deliver fist class services to our business
- Provide best practice support services for the systems under Enterprise Support Services management responsibility, striving to minimise system down time.
- Provide Technical Project Management guidance to staff who may be appointed as Technical Lead or Technical Project manager to projects.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience of managing large teams 15-20+
- Expert background in one or more flavours of UNIX.
- A good technical understanding of LDAP, NIS, DNS and NFS technologies.
- Sound knowledge of SAN disk and SAN fabric architecture and technology features.
- Experience of managing a Regional team - Global exposure is an advantage.
- Investment Banking experience.
- Excellent ability to prioritise and control activities and deliver results within budgetary and resource constraints.
- Be independent and confident, but willing and able to harness the expertise and ideas of others.
The designation for this position would be VP, although the step to a Director level position would a smooth transition and a small step up. This is reflected in the rates offered for this position.
