A leading global Internet security provider, now protecting over a million networks worldwide, are looking to expand their specialist development team based in Southampton with an enthusiastic and talented developer / junior developer.
The ideal candidate for this fantastic opportunity will be:
- Degree educated
- Have some experience of working with the following programming languages: Perl, C/ C++
- Have some knowledge of HTTP and proxying, HTML (i.e. writing CGIs) and secure programming techniques
A basic understanding of the following would be highly beneficial:
- Network (socket) programming
- IP networking
- Firewalls and an understanding of IPTables
- Statistical analysis and reporting
- Anti-spyware techniques
- Content Filtering/ Security
- Programming daemons in C/ C++
- Windows programming
- Unix/ Linux Sysadmin
- Software development lifecycles
- Software testing methodologies and
- Revision control software (ideally CVS/ SVN/ GIT)
As part of the development team your responsibilities would include the development and maintenance of the companies products, writing and maintaining CGIs pages, researching and programming network protocols to assist with the continued development of assigned products, testing new and updated software, reviewing of manuals and other documentation and to assist the support team in resolving problems when necessary.
