SQL Database Specialist to work onsite in Milton Keynes. The Database Specialist provides the highest level of expert knowledge to the internal Firecrest Infrastructure and support arenas. This comprises third level support of Database infrastructure components and interfacing with any third parties for third or fourth level support issues. Qualifications and Skills Required • Certifications such as MCDBA or similar certifications would be preferred. • Knowledge and experience with ITSM/ ITIL Reference model. • Minimum of 5 years previous in a Database Developer or Database Administrator role or similar experience. • Expert knowledge of SQL Server including Design, Development, Implementation and Administration. • Experienced SQL Server database administration (install, upgrade, maintain) in large production environments, including Clustering and SANs. • Expertise in tuning a database in high availability environments using database clusters • Expertise in developing Business Intelligence solutions. Developing Data Marts Warehouses and transforming data using DTS and OLAP. • Expertise in developing MIS reports using SQL Reporting Services • Very strong TSQL, Developing Stored Procedures and Views, functions and triggers. • Very strong abstract thinking, problem solving and resolution skills • Strong troubleshoot skills – must be able to solve technical problems that are complex in nature. • Able to use independent judgment to solve complex technical problems. • The successful candidate must be prepared to undergo government security clearance and the post is conditional upon such clearance being granted • Certifications such as MCSE, CNE, MSP, Cisco or similar certifications would be preferred. • Knowledge and experience with ITSM/ ITIL Reference model. • Minimum of 5 years previous Technical Support or similar experience. • Very strong problem solving and resolution experience. • Strong troubleshooting skills -- must be able to solve technical problems that are com
