My client is the leader of a multi-hundred million pound Government programme to deliver an IT enabled, transformed security capability for the UK. This comprises significant large scale project/ programme management , design, development and implementation of systems and software.

They seek an experienced Oracle Database designer with essential experience in Oracle 10g. Candidates for this role must have excellent knowledge of database management technologies and database design methods and techniques to design and maintain Oracle. You must have knowledge of technical performance software to ensure database integrity and performance standards are met. You should also have expert knowledge of Oracle physical data modelling, performance tuning, and diagnostics.

This person will provide senior level expertise in the design, development and implementation of technology solutions – researching, evaluating and selecting hardware and software tools and their impact on various applications. You will provide leadership, planning and analysis expertise in technology for managing information and relationships to databases. You will also establish and maintain the nethods, techniques, guidelines and monitoring practices for the design and development of database systems to ensure Service Levels are maintained and comply with company policy and standards. Experience of some of the following would be highly advantageous: Performance Tuning (Wait-event Methodology) RAC, Partitioning, Physical Modelling/ Architecture, OLS, Data Guard, ASM, ETL development. Oracle DBA experience is beneficial also.

Please note that this role will require security clearance to SC level. Obviously if you are Security Cleared already this is advantageous. To be eligible you must have been a resident in the UK for a minimum of 5 years.
