International research and Development Company with a European base in High Wycombe Buckinghamshire. This role is responsible for the software infrastructure and grid computing environment in the UK to ensure the productivity of development engineers. The role would suit a Software Engineer or Network Administrator with good Linux / Unix systems skills and the ability to develop applications using scripting languages (e.g. shell, perl, python). Position: Software Engineer or Network Administrator
Location: High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire.
Salary: £30-40k.

Key Skills: Linux / Unix, scripting (shell, python, perl), degree in computer science or similar.
Desirable Skills: working in software or hardware development, IT support, systems administration, Windows.

Key Accountabilities:
• Undertake infrastructure development projects as a member of the worldwide software infrastructure organisation
• Develop automation solutions for tasks that are common to multiple development groups in the UK
• Assist software and hardware development engineers in the UK in the use of the software infrastructure and grid computing environment
• Administer the infrastructure and grid computing environment in the UK, including rolling out new infrastructure
• Ensure that the IT department provides adequate computing resources for development engineers in the UK
• Ensure that the requirements of development engineers in the UK are met by the worldwide infrastructure organisation
