This role is responsible for the software infrastructure and grid computing environment in the UK to ensure the productivity of development engineers. The role would suit a Software Engineer or Network Administrator with good Linux / Unix systems skills and the ability to develop applications using scripting languages (e.g. shell, perl, python). Key Accountabilities:
• Undertake infrastructure development projects as a member of the worldwide software infrastructure organisation
• Develop automation solutions for tasks that are common to multiple development groups in the UK
• Assist software and hardware development engineers in the UK in the use of the software infrastructure and grid computing environment
• Administer the infrastructure and grid computing environment in the UK, including rolling out new infrastructure
• Ensure that the IT department provides adequate computing resources for development engineers in the UK
• Ensure that the requirements of development engineers in the UK are met by the worldwide infrastructure organisation
