Network Specialist – European Networks - Leicestershire - £30k
A major multi-national company based in Leicestershire seeks a Network Specialist to join their team, to provide Network and Server support in a challenging environment. You will be responsible for 3rd level Cisco and Windows support of European Network including, ISDN, Frame Relay, MPLS through out 15 European countries. You will also provide the following support: TACACS administration, VPN Concentrator administration, Checkpoint Firewall administration, Active Directory administration. There will also be an element of On-call support for the European Network, as well as Router and Switch configuration, firmware and Hardware upgrades. You will perform on-site analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of complex network problems for a variety of end users, and recommend and implement corrective hardware and software solutions. You will also support development and implementations of networking projects and new technology installations.
Candidates for this role will have a proven working knowledge in an IP based network, using various hardware and software platforms, for communication and server applications. You should have at least 2 years working experience in either a Networking or Server support role with experience of configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco Routers and Switches in a LAN/ WAN environment.
Any relevant accreditations are most useful such as CCNA/ CCDA/ MCP. Candidates must be willing to travel, sometimes at relatively short notice to ensure the quickest most cost effective resolution to any problems. Candidates must have excellent communication skills and work well in a team environment, as well as the ability to quickly understand and assimilate new technology and processes.
You will earn a good starting base up to £30k + excellent company benefits and on-call allowance for work outside hours (1 week in 3). We are happy to consider those who will ‘grow into the role' as long as you can demonstrate you have sufficient exposure to relevant technologies and the ability to develop.
